Our Mission

As a registered Australian charity, we're demonstrating how degraded land can be restored to its natural state while sequestering tens of thousands of tonnes of CO2. Our comprehensive approach includes wildlife regeneration, carbon sequestration research, and innovative restoration techniques.

Forktree has two levels of impact. The first is the practical work being done on the ground. Our on-site seed nursery is central to this mission - we collect, propagate, and grow native species specific to our region, ensuring genetic diversity and ecosystem authenticity.

The second is about showing how smaller land holdings like Forktree can make a meaningful contribution to combatting climate change and arresting biodiversity loss. Small/medium sized farms constitute nearly 10% of Australia’s agricultural land, covering tens of millions of hectares.

Through hands-on educational programs, we're inspiring the next generation to understand restoration from seed to forest.
